National Community Church Mission Team Heads to Congo For Christ in Uvira, Democratic Republic of Co

For the fourth year in a row, National Community Church (NCC) in Washington DC is sending a mission team to Congo for Christ in Uvira, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). For the first time, a team from Lakeside Community Church in Algoma, Wisconsin is joining with the DC team for this life-changing ministry trip. Lakeside’s team is led by Pastor and Global Outreach Board Member, Chris Jarrell, who was formerly a campus pastor at National Community Church and led the first NCC team to Congo for Christ in 2011. Sarah and James Bayot will again lead the NCC team as they did last year. For many of the team members, this will be their second, third, or fourth trip to Congo and they already share a close bond with the children and staff of Congo for Christ. The team members going for the first time this year are no doubt filled with a mixture of excitement, anticipation, and perhaps a little apprehension at what awaits them. We know their hearts will be captured and filled with love for the precious orphans at Congo for Christ and we know that their presence will make a lasting impact on the children at CCC.

Each year the returning team members mention how much progress has been made from the previous year. This year is no exception as the team will participate in the dedication of the new Mango Tree school building and office.

This year the team will participate in the dedication of Mango Tree School.

These mission trips would not be possible without the sacrifice and hard work of many people. Many ladies have spent countless hours in sewing dresses, shorts and hygiene items for the girls. Bake sales and other fundraising events have provided much of the funds. Most importantly are the prayers and spiritual support by family, friends, and church members. Many thanks to all who have prayed, worked, served, sacrificed and given to makes this year’s trip possible! Please keep the team in your prayers as they prepare for the trip and while they are traveling from July 11-22.

Please keep the team in your prayers from July 11-22.
