Congo Missions Team Members Write About Mango Tree School - Part 2

The March 2014 newsletter shared the need to raise $54,435 to complete the construction of a new school at Congo for Christ in Uvira, DRC Congo. We also announced the generous offer of a matching grant to help us reach this goal. We are rejoicing over the amazing answers to this need provided by God through His people.

We have asked two members of mission teams from National Community Church in Washington DC that have invested their time and energy into this project to share with our partners.

Here is Part 2 from Ashleigh:

For the past two years, our hearts have knitted even closer together as friendships with these 57 orphans have grown deeper into the depths of His love. It amazes me how these little ones can take up so much room in my heart after only spending a few weeks with them, but they have completely captured mine.

Even though the Congo is an extremely dangerous and unstable region, I have witnessed and experienced firsthand God’s movement at Congo for Christ (CCC). The improvements that have taken place—the fence surrounding the orphanage, a garden bursting full of fresh veggies, the orphans health restored—are all miraculous signs that these orphans and this community are being relentlessly pursued and sought after by our loving Heavenly Father. Upon returning from last year’s mission trip, our team felt God tug at our hearts to say "yes" to help fundraise $54,000 for a school at CCC. It seemed like a massively steep mountain that would take years to hike up. But the minute we said ‘yes’ God showed up and showed off. In less than two months we were able to help raise over $54,000 for Mango Tree School!

His hope and restoration is rippling throughout this community and in our own backyards hearts are being moved.
