The Board of Directors of Global Outreach is pleased to announce that Bill Reed has been named to relieve Allan Eliason as General Director. Bill has 29 years of experience as a Chaplain in the US Navy, from which he retired this year. He holds an M.Div. from the Church of God Theological Seminary and has completed postgraduate studies at Candler School of Theology and Columbia Theological Seminary. During his service years, Bill traveled to numerous countries and developed partnerships with local ministries in a wide variety of cultural settings. He has special expertise in developing Christian ministers, as well as designing and implementing curriculum and seminars for spiritual and professional training. He is also experienced in responding to crisis situations including conflicts in Bosnia and Somalia and natural disasters such as the 2004 tsunami in Southeast Asia.
At Global Outreach, Bill will be focusing on both advancement and spiritual guidance for Global Outreach’s network of international ministries. He plans to visit congregations to increase visibility for Global Outreach and liaison with other ministries. Bill is also eager to renew Global Outreach’s commitment to Biblical training for the ministries it supports around the world. His varied background will be agreat asset when launching new ministry initiatives in the coming ears.
Bill joins his wife, Renee, President of Global Outreach, in continuing the ministry her parents, Allan and Harle Eliason, founded in 1986. Both feel honored for this opportunity and realize that this ministry would not be possible without the faithful support of you, our cherished partners.
