Reverend Jeremiah Rukukuye, who has been working diligently to establish the orphanage in the newly constructed dormitory financed by Global Outreach, recently got an unexpected gift from his youngest son Ngena. As you may recall, Reverend Jeremiah and his family have been living as refugees in Nairobi, Kenya for several years after fleeing civil unrest in their homeland of Congo. Nearly three years ago Rev-erend Jeremiah felt the calling of God to return to Congo and establish Congo for Christ Missionary Church, Revival Bible College and an orphanage. While the ministry has made great progress, it has come at a great personal cost to the Rukukuye family as they have been separated so the children can finish school before the family reunites in Congo. Recently Jeremiah relocated the family to Uganda where the children are able to continue school and live nearer to Congo.
In April when Jeremiah had situated his family and was preparing to return to Congo, his youngest son, Ngena, told his father of his desire to help the orphans…
"Father, I feel I should send some of my clothes to the orphans in Uvira. I better remain with only three of my clothes."
Pastor Jeremiah related,
"I was touched and said yes, and started to watch as he put them together. I was happy to see even my children are willing to help this ministry."
I was moved when I heard how Ngena willingly and joyfully gave from his heart out of his meager possessions. What a blessing that we can also know the joy of giving as we share of our means to improve the lives of these precious children. They are anxiously awaiting the day they will be able to move into their new home. Please continue to pray that the final preparations, particularly supplying water to the compound will be completed without further delay.
