Democratic Republic of the Congo

Global Outreach began partnering with Reverend Jeremiah in 1996.  In October 2007, Reverend Jeremiah Rukukuye, his wife, and children established a ministry center named Congo For Christ Center (CCC) in Uvira, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and the Congo for Christ Missionary Church (CCMC). Since then, Global Outreach has purchased the property for CCC, built an orphanage, provided potable water, and most recently purified drinking water for the center and local community, funded a Bible School, developed and built a Mango Tree School and offices for its teachers and staff, initiated a community feeding program impacting 2500 – 3000 children weekly, built a Chapel that can seat up to 1000, built a kitchen, a storage and medical facility, and the expansion continues to this day.  Through sponsorship and the scholarship program, many orphans raised at CCC have completed college or vocational training and now work as mechanics, tailors, teachers, and engineers.  We recently graduated our first doctor and lawyer.  Through God’s miraculous provision, the ministry of CCC continues to impact thousands of lives.

Global Outreach was first introduced to Pastor Fred Wakula in 2010 during a mission trip to the DRC. Pastor Fred has a heart for spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the DRC, rescuing its orphaned children, and providing every Congolese child an opportunity to receive a Christ-centered education.  Since that initial meeting, Pastor Fred and Global Outreach have partnered to build a primary and secondary school that serves several hundred students and an orphanage that houses 34 orphaned children.  In addition to overseeing these ministries, Pastor Fred shepherds a local church and provides leadership, supervision, and training for 75 other African Evangelical Christian Churches in the DRC.  These churches comprise over 15,000 members.  The impact this ministry is having on restoring hope, spreading the good news of Jeus’ love and compassion, and mitigating spiritual and physical suffering in the DRC is truly remarkable.

Global Outreach has been partnering with Pastor Sanga and the Evangelical Outreach Church and Ministries (EOCM) in Bangladesh since 2017.  Bangladesh is one of the poorest and most densely populated countries in the world.  Pastor Sanga has a burden to bring the message of God’s love and forgiveness to the many unreached people groups of Bangladesh.   EOCM primarily concentrates on the eleven ethnic groups of the Jumma people in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.   Each month, often at great risk, a ministry team evangelizes a new village where team members share their testimonies and the gospel message.  As a result, many who have never heard of Jesus, come to know Christ as Savior and are baptized.  A house church is then formed in the village among the new believers which over time inevitably grows into a village church.  Over 130 house churches have been established since our partnership began with EOCM.  Follow-up visits are made to the villages for discipleship training and encouragement.  Grace Children’s Home is another vital arm of EOCM.  It aims to extend the love and compassion of Christ to orphaned, abandoned, and abused children.  In a loving Christian home environment, the children are provided food, clothing, shelter, skills training, a Christian education, and compassionate care.  Grace Children’s Home wants every child in their program to experience the love of God and have the opportunity for a brighter future.

Since 1988, Global Outreach has partnered with Feed My People (FMP) ministries led by Pastor Sadhu Thomas.  At that time FMP had only one very humble thatched-roofed orphanage housing a dozen children.  Over the years, God has blessed this ministry with significant growth.  They now have 15 children’s homes housing over 283 orphaned children. These homes also serve as a church where regular worship services and Bible studies are held.   On the main campus of FMP is a large three-story building utilized as a children’s home, a vocational training center, an elementary school, a worship center, and offices for FMP.  FMP rescues teenage girls from brothels and at-risk boys with troubled pasts providing them with medical skills training and helps them find a job after graduation. The teens are taught the Bible and have committed their lives to Christ.  FMP also conducts evangelistic crusades, feeds the hungry, provides a tailoring school for widows to make a living, and trains future church leaders.  Global Outreach helped build many of the 60 village churches affiliated with FMP and provides ongoing support for their pastors.

Myanmar

Global Outreach has partnered with Pastor Richard Khum of Missions of Myanmar (MOM) and Agape Children’s Home (ACH) since 2020.  These ministries have endured escalating persecution to provide a variety of life-changing, life-enhancing services to the people and vulnerable children of Myanmar.   MOM has missionaries serving throughout the country and each year hundreds come into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through their evangelistic outreach efforts.   Pastor Richard and his ministry team conduct a three-month-long Discipleship Training School (DTS) twice a year.  The aim is to help new converts grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and learn how to share their faith.  Hundreds have been trained through DTS, and many now serve as missionaries in their home villages.  Agape Children’s Home currently houses over 55 children.   These children are taught God’s word and provided food, clothing, shelter, education, safety, security, and a warm embrace.  Most of all, they receive the redeeming and transforming love of Christ.  MOM and ACH are making a significant contribution toward restoring hope and mitigating the suffering of many in the country of Myanmar.

Global Outreach has been partnering with the House of Refuge (HOR) in Myanmar, a predominately Buddhist nation, since 2015.  HOR, under the direction of Pastor Cyrus, is located near Yangon.  Over the past couple of years, HOR has moved from a small, more developed plot of land to a much larger and less developed property where there are more natural resources.  Pastor Cyrus and his wife Rebecca, at great personal sacrifice, provide loving, Christ-like care for over 40 children residing at the home.  The children are taught how to study and memorize the Bible and what it means to be a disciple of Christ.  They also learn how to lead in worship, play musical instruments, share in daily chores, and be a family.  Pastor Cyrus’ aim is that the children at HOR are well cared for, learn about Jesus, and grow up to be responsible adults who love and serve the Lord.

Thailand

Global Outreach has been partnering with Pastor Wanchai Supawas since 1986.  Pastor Wanchai began the Samoeng Church in Chiang Mai, Thailand in 1984.  Even at this time, it was in the hearts of Pastor Wanchai and his wife to build and open a safe home for girls.  This dream came true and a home, adjacent to the church, was built with funding from Global Outreach to house up to 40 girls.  The girls in the home have either deceased parents or are orphaned as a result of their parent’s drug and alcohol addictions.  These girls are especially vulnerable, some were trafficked, and some were struggling with their own addiction.  The home has now been operating for over 35 years.  Although there is great demand to live at the girl’s home, funding often limits the number of girls who can be admitted to the program.  These girls are shown the love and compassion of Christ by Pastor Wanchai and his wife Pensri.  The girls take part in regular Bible study, are taught life skills, perform assigned chores, and take an active role in worship services.  The trajectory of these girls' lives radically changes as they receive God’s love, acceptance, and forgiveness.

Vietnam

Global Outreach has partnered with Emmanuel Orphanage (EO) in Ho Chi Minh since 2014.  Hong Suong, a precious and devoted saint of God, along with the support of her loving husband, Nghia, who serves as a pastor, directs the ministry of Emmanuel Orphanage.  EO is a place of love, hope, and acceptance for every child.  It provides food, clothing, shelter, biblical training, education, God’s love, and compassion for 43 orphaned children.  Currently, the children are all kept in three rented houses with only meager furnishings and from time to time have to be relocated due to harassment.  This is a problem that Global Outreach would love to see addressed as funds become available to secure a permanent facility to house all the children and the church in one location.  In addition, Hong Suong and Nghia conduct a vital ministry addressing the various needs of hospitalized cancer patients, lepers, and those in prison.  Hong Suong and Nghia feel called by God to care for those on the margins, men and women, children, and families likely to be mistreated, stigmatized, ostracized, and perceived as a burden.  This vulnerability is precisely why they give themselves sacrificially to care for those considered the least among us.
