Raising Leaders

One of the joys of being involved with Global Outreach since its inception nearly thirty years ago is having the opportunity to see the long term effect of our partnership with ministries we support around the world. It is especially gratifying to witness the personal and spiritual growth and development of young orphans into responsible leaders in their community and church.

It is especially gratifying to witness the personal and spiritual growth and development of young orphans into responsible leaders

For example, in India we have partnered with Reverend Thomas and Feed My People (FMP) since 1988. During our last visit there, it was a particular thrill to see how one of our former orphans, Elisha, had now become the pastor of Paramella village church and director of the orphanage. Several former FMP orphans are also now pastoring and involved in church leadership.

"We believe that through your support we will be able to bring up fture and responsible leaders with Christian values to lead our beloved Congo" -- Pastor Jeremiah, CCC Pastor

Reverend Jeremiah, founder and leader of Congo for Christ Center (CCC), shares with us his heart and desire for the children being raised at the CCC orphanage. “We believe that through your support we will be able to bring up future and responsible leaders with Christian values to lead our beloved Congo.” When the CCC orphanage opened three years ago with 57 children, the majority of them did not believe in Christ as their Savior, and some of them were from Muslim families. Now, all of the children have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and have been taught to share their faith with others. Just this past Sunday, several of the children were able to take a leadership role in the church services.

Now, all the children have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and have been taught to share their faith with others.

We praise God for the growth we have seen in all of these precious children. Later this year, two of the CCC boys will graduate from secondary school and are praying they will be able to attend university. Global Outreach Sponsorship Coordinator, Ashleigh Fields, shares her thoughts and desire to help these fine young men and the other orphans prepare for future roles of service.

“The future of Congo for Christ Center (CCC) Orphanage holds greatness. These orphans are thirsty for education and their grades and English skills demonstrate their potential. With Christ’s love and the love and encouragement from supporters like you, they are pushing past their circumstances and excelling academically. Because they are more than overcomers, they are dreaming big and praying hard about their futures. They dream of becoming doctors, teachers, computer programmers, and pastors. What’s more humbling is that these selfless kids desire to receive an education so they can turnaround and invest their skills back into their own community.

Two orphans, Ramazani and Heritier, graduate in August 2015 from secondary school, which is equivalent to high school in the United States. We share in their dreams and want to make them a reality, so we are fanning the educational flame by offering college scholarships. Any orphan that is accepted to university has the opportunity to apply to Global Outreach Inc's scholarship program. You can contribute to this scholarship fund by designating your gift for scholarship fund or donating online at the Global Outreach website.”

As you can see, your gifts are helping to not only care for orphans, but also working to develop Godly leaders within the church and community around the globe.
